Kinja'd!!!

This is me in a Chevy Sonic. Yes, the seat is fully lowered and slid back. My knees were jammed into the steering wheel. I am 6'5" tall, I am hilariously huge in my friend's Fiesta as well. Sorry for old iPotato 5 photo, I blame my sister who took it.

Weirdz. My 6'3 friend can drive my Sonic just fine, has plenty of head room at that...

I want to try. In fact line up many cars that I would look funny sitting in, I feel like it could be a hoot.

I don't know if it was because of the sunroof or I'm just freakish, but I do not fit at all well in most small cars.

Jaguar E-Type

AZ-1 (basically any kei car)

Shelby Cobra

GT40

any car with a full FIA spec roll cage

I wonder if I could even get my legs in a Kei-car, can't say about the others. Does a FIA spec roll cage take up that much room? I fit very comfortably in the new WRX.

I think it will be more difficult for him to find one of those cars than actually fitting himself into one.

I'm 6'4" and I fit in a Sonic just fine and have more headroom than I do in my M3. Even in a model with a sunroof.

Now a Miata on the other hand..

Hrm. I also have a sunroof. It's probably more just your torso to leg ratio, if you have a long torso and short legs, that could be the reason.

I have long legs and a long torso. I honestly think I'm closer to 6'6". The few times I've gone to the doctor in the last couple of years, all of the nurses have been too short to properly measure my height.

I'm assuming your height is more in your torso than your legs. My dad is a similar way, so he adjust seats in the strangest ways.

I've only sat in them twice, once at the Philly show last year, and at the Detroit show this year. I defiantly wouldn't daily drive one, as the legroom was quite tight.

The Colorado/Canyon is no sports car but it is definitely pretty nimble and fun to drive. GM designed it very well, it doesn't handle or feel like a lumbering beast. What kind of truck have you got?

This,

Kinja'd!!!

I'll admit, it's more truck than I need, but I got it for a good price. And I get the feeling it will last me quite a while. I love it, it is optioned the way I want (which isn't the easiest when buying used), and it is in my favorite GM truck color Blue Granite Metallic. The interior is on the cheap side, but its a truck.

Good to hear about the new GM midsizers though. I really like the looks on both (the more utilitarian Chevy a little more so), cant wait for the diesel though. That may be my next truck because that little diesel will have more torque than the v8 in my blue truck.

As a 5' 10" guy with really long legs compared to his torso, I have trouble fitting in a spark! Though it has more to do with choosing if my legs are comfortable or my arms are.

02/07/2015 at 23:20

My legs are insanely long, which was my only real problem in the spark, as my right knee was squished up against the fan knob on the Spark's dash.

I've not been in a fiesta since I was 13 or 14, so I have no clue how I'd fit now that I'm nearly 18. I can guarantee though that I wouldn't be able to squish my body into those Recaro seats on the Fiesta ST.

That is a very pretty truck, I've always liked the look of most GM ones. I don't care for the overly luxurious interiors in pickups either. It is nice in all of the GMCs, but it is a truck.

I think the Colorado got the better styling as well, the Canyon just looks like a mini Sierra which isn't a bad thing. That diesel is ridiculous in a great way, I'd go for it but I'm getting a car this year and prefer the gas V6.

Tall people should stick to larger cars. I've officially realized that after my prior two, fairly small cars, a Kia Soul, and Hyundai Elantra.

I agree wholeheartedly. The smallest car I actually fit comfortably in, that I've found so far, is a newer Malibu.

I currently drive an 06 Stratus, I used to fit pretty comfortably but I don't think I could drive it more than a couple hours anymore. I drove it 6 hours to Chicago and back home in November and don't think I could do it again due to discomfort.

I've found Chrysler group cars to be rather small compared to the class. In fact, I even find the Chrysler 300 to be too cramped inside. The best car I've ever driven in terms of comfort has to be the Ford Expedition. It's a shame that those things are so expensive, and so bad on gas, as that is what I should really be driving. For now though, my Outback is plenty roomy, I just hope that I don't grow a whole ton more, as then I'll be kinda screwed. Also, as far as the Malibu goes, did they fix the headroom issue from the last gen, because from what I can remember the roof was insanely low.

I honestly dislike most things concerning the design of the Chrysler cars. Ask me where my battery is. The only thing I like about their vehicles are some of the styling choices(Magnum, Charger) and the pure insanity (Hellcats).

Expeditions are pretty damn nice. What year/model Outback? I like the old Legacy GT and Outbacks and the 2015 Outbacks have grown on me. I think I've topped out now that I'm nearly 21, thankfully. It was the first time I rode in a Malibu, a 2013 I believe, so I can't say.

As for the battery, I'm going to guess under the back seat? The Outback is a 2015 2.5i Premium. I was really looking for a pre-owned 2012-2014 model, but I had a really short time frame to buy a car, as my prior car was being lemon lawed, so I ended up just going for a new one, as all of the used ones in my area were either prior rentals, or had questionable histories. My favorite gen of outback would have to be the 2005-2009, but unfortunately, due to my height, I would not have been able to fit.

The battery is in the front, driver side wheel well behind the bumper. I found this out last winter when I had to change it in -30 weather. You have to take off the wheel to change it. Stupidest ducking thing I've seen in a car design. Also the transmission in it is a horrid piece of shit auto.

Good choice, I do like the current ones a lot even if I wouldn't buy one for reasons regarding the height and lack of manual trans. Otherwise, they have really started to look good, are very safe, and very comfortable.

02/08/2015 at 01:07

Kinja'd!!!0

Wow, that is a real screw up on chrysler's part, I wonder what the designer was thinking. As for the Subaru, if I knew how to drive a manual, then the lack of a manual option would have probably been a deal breaker. I really want to learn how to drive manual, I can not find anyone with a manual car that I can fit in in order to learn.

IProbably the strongest cocaine he could find in the 90s when they designed the original chassis and everything.

Find someone with a truck, I bet you'd easily fit in a full size of some kind. And trucks tend to be manual when they are basic model.

Hah.

The biggest car with a manual that one of my friends has is a 1999ish Jeep Wrangler, he actually tried to teach me, but I was unable to move my legs quick enough due to the way I was contorted up due to the cramped seating position. Maybe when I get to college next year, I'll meet someone who I can get to teach me.

I love and hate my car.

I was taught when I first got my license, 5 years ago, by an uncle in a beat to hell old Ford. I've mostly forgotten how to drive manual since I never needed to. Which leads to a friend reteaching me in his Foz.
